Chic Cheeks - Happy Heinys Review & Giveaway 6/14

* This giveaway is now CLOSED *

I'm excited to get to be one of the first to introduce you to the new cloth diapering company, Chic Cheeks!

Before you do anything else, check out their special for the month of June!
Buy any 3 diapers, get a free KuWaii One Size Diaper!

And, now I get to tell you about one of the awesome products that Chic Cheeks carries and highly recommends!

I reviewed the Happy Heinys One for All one-size pocket diaper with snaps. ($18.95)

  • Better Fit for Babies: The One for All diaper's rise has been shortened a bit to fit smaller babies better, now offering a better fit for both big and small babies, and every size in between! (8-35lbs)
  • Less Bulk. Less Drooping: The improved One-Size now features a smaller belly panel and reduced width between the leg openings. This styling change means less bulk in the bottom and less dropping for a better look, fit and feel!
  • Leak-Resistant Happy Heinys works to make diaper changes as easy as possible. The new leak-resistant design offers improved performance over the original One-Size, especially when worn by slender to average weight babies.
  • Longer Life: Happy Heinys diapers include fantastic elastic bindings that are easy to replace if needed. With this value-added assurance, the investment in reusable cloth diapers lasts even longer, through multiple changes and multiple siblings, if necessary.

Michelle at Chic Cheeks highly recommended this diaper to me for it's leak-resistant qualities.
I had so much trouble with Katie leaking through her diapers at night for awhile, (she's one of those slender ones!) and the only thing that would work for me was stuffing a cover with two big prefolds with two smaller ones as extra soakers every night, with a fleece soaker/cover over all of it.

Not to mention the difficulty of putting such a creation on a wiggly toddler, Katie could hardly walk because of the bulk! She would stagger up from the changing area, lose her balance and declare it a "BIG biper!" then waddle off to whatever she was up to.

Mocha One for All Diaper on Smallest Setting

The Happy Heinys One for All is now my favorite nighttime diaper! We've had absolutely zero leakage, and it's so much more trim than what I've been using!
I think I'll be getting a second one of these soon, so I can have one available every night since I only do diaper laundry every other day at most.

On the Largest Setting (huge!)

I can tell that this is a quality-made diaper and will last through a few more siblings, (which we hope to have!) ;-)
Longevity is a very important factor to consider when you're investing in pocket diapers. Who wants to spend $15-$25 per diaper only to have them fall apart a few months later? At the competitive price of $18.95, this diaper delivers as promised!

Check out the literally dozens of color and print options for the One for All diaper!

The One for All diaper is also available with hook and loop (velcro) closure, in a Mini size for babies 4-15lbs, and in Organic!

Chic Cheeks is giving away an Happy Heinys One for All diaper to one lucky reader in their choice of in-stock color or print!

EnviBum AIO Cloth Diaper 6/13 BBD Event

* This giveaway is now CLOSED *

I'm extending our Bye-Bye Diapers event a bit here, since I ended up with more generous sponsors eager to share their goodies with you!
(Make sure you get your entries in at Purposeful Homemaking SOON, though! All of her Bye-Bye Diapers giveaways close June 1st, this Wednesday!)

During potty training, there will be times along the journey when you need a diaper or two. Whether it's bedtime, nap times, during long car trips, or just those times when you don't want to risk an accident during the beginning stages of training...you're going to still need some diapers.

Enter, the Envibum all-in-one minky diaper!

This amazingly user-friendly cloth diaper, (even dads and baby-sitters could handle this one!) is an ideal choice for potty training times because of it's flip-out absorbency pad.

Here you see the pad tucked in, for better absorbency and a more comfortable stay-dry feeling for younger babies.

And here, the pad is flipped out for a more immediate "wet feeling" (or a softer feeling for a newborn's tender skin.)

For your nighttime Super-Soaker, you can add extra absorbency pads into the pocket area of the diaper along with the flip-out pad.

This is the easiest one-size diaper I've seen!
There are no rise snaps or size-adjustments to deal with...it's sitting there waiting and ready for whichever child I need it for...be it 13lb Victoria or 25lb Katie!
I don't have to change a thing!

I can tell just by handling this diaper that it's made from quality materials and will last a long time which makes me feel a little better about the higher price tag, ($22.99 each.)
You can also save up to 15% by buying a diaper package.

So soft around little legs!

I love that Envibum is a Christ-based company and that they show it through giving back!
For every diaper purchased, $2 is donated to a different worthy charity, depending which of their many colors you choose!

The envigreen diaper proceeds go to Food for the Hungry, and the envipink, (my favorite!) benefits the Crisis Pregnancy Center!

Super Skivvies Review & Giveaway 6/10 BBD Event

Super Skivvies are probably the most cleverly designed training pants I've come across yet!

Super Skivvies are convertible.
Meaning, once you've triumphed over the trials of potty-training, you can still use them for (very stylish) underwear!

During the potty training period, use the included bamboo/organic cotton insert tucked into the pocket of the underwear to use as trainers!

These are my favorite training pants for Katie! They fit well and are made to the highest quality of workmanship.
They're adorable and, best of all, they do their job!

I started out with several pairs of another brand of training pants and found that they were over-padded and too absorbent, so that Katie could not tell the difference between them and a diaper.
Of course, they were still not as absorbent as a diaper, so we ended up with many wet spots on couches and highchairs and it was discouraging!

Super Skivvies have more absorbing capabilities than the Little Beetle Learner, but Katie can still tell she's wearing underwear and not a diaper, and knows when she's going, not after.

XS "Fairy Catmother" for Katie! (25lbs/2yrs)

In fact, while I was sitting here starting this post yesterday, Katie (wearing her Super Skivvies,) ran in from the living room, saying "Potty!" stopped short of my desk, (still on the vinyl floor, thank goodness,) and as I jumped to rush her to the bathroom, I noticed there was already little puddle on the floor.
She'd been absorbed in playing with her toys and obviously had waited too long, but when she'd started to go, she could feel it and ran to me for help!

Super Skivvies Organic Line

With the other training pants, she'd never even tell me that she'd gone in them, and we'd discover the accident much later after the fact, too late to get her to the potty to reinforce where she should go! (In the above incident, Katie was able to stop and we got her to the bathroom in time to finish! Yay!)

I took Katie out with me to do grocery shopping and errands and let her wear the Super Skivvies the whole time. She didn't have a SINGLE accident the whole time we were out! (My confidence to make a go for it was boosted by the car seat protector!)

I was so proud!

A matching nightgown!
(Nightgowns are great for potty training times!)

Once you're more confident that accidents are a thing of the past, the insert can be easily removed from these convertible trainers, and voila! You have underwear of the highest quality!
No need to buy a whole set of cloth training pants or any number of packages of disposable training pants and then a whole set of underwear later!

Visit Super Skivvies blog to see the cost breakdown of the disposable training pants route vs. the Super Skivvies route!
Huge savings!

Super Skivvies feature one layer of soft 100% cotton jersey knit in the body, a rayon (from bamboo)/organic cotton velour liner in the crotch area, 100% cotton interlock waist and thigh bands, and no-roll elastic encased in the waist.

Included is a removable insert consisting of three layers rayon (from bamboo)/organic cotton fleece. Just tuck the insert into the crotch lining, and your undies are trainers!

Super Skivvies are not an alternative to diapers. Including the insert, there are five layers of protection, enough to handle a single accident.

Super Skivvies is giving away a pair of their amazing convertible training pants to TWO lucky Mama Chocolate readers!
