Caprices AI2 One-Size Diaper Review

I was sent a AI2 One-Size Diaper from Caprices to review for the AMFC Event, but it didn't arrive in time due to shipping delays, so here we are!

About Caprices, from Natacha:

Caprices is a company based in Montreal, Canada. Operated by me, a work at home mother, who tries to grow her business and educate her child at the same time. I originally decided to create my own brand of diapers to fit the needs of my little boy, almost every brand that I had tried were not reaching my expectation of a great diaper. Legs were too big or too tight, Waist, too high, not good fabric for my son skin. So I decided to create a brand that fit my needs and at the same time the needs of other moms in the same situation. All the models have been tested with my boy and they were put in extreme conditions to be sure they really worked.
Caprices products have been on the market for a year now with ten distributors and we're always looking for more. We're also working on a pilot with the daycares to show that cloth diapers are as easy as disposable diapers. They've also been used in industrial washing and they stayed in great shape, way over the concurrent brand.

We have 3 different models of cloth diapers, 2 multi-size and 1 one-size. They're all made of PUL, suede cloth and bamboo viscose: the 3 great fabrics that have revolutionized the cloth diaper industry. The one-size diaper is an all-in-two pocket diaper, the shell and the insert are sold separately so you can buy more inserts then shells. They also have a front opening pocket, for parents that prefer the pocket style diapers. The insert is adjustable in 4 sizes to match the shell size. They came in 2 ply or 3 ply, which give them 6 or 9 layers. They're made of bamboo viscose and a part has suede cloth on it to keep baby bottom dry. So even if you use it as an AI2 you still have the stay dry fabric. It's an innovation and a very economical system.
We also produce 2 all-in-one diapers in multi-size. The first one is called hybrid, it's a quick-dry design, 2 parts of bamboo inside and 3 parts outside. It's a very trim diaper but still very absorbent. The other one is an all-in-one pocket made of 4 parts of bamboo sewn in and a front pocket opening to boost it when needs it. They came in three sizes: small (8-18 pounds), medium (14-28 pounds) and large (26-45 pounds).
Ours products are a must-have in each diaper stash. That's why I want everybody to know about them!

Insert & Diaper

I love that this diaper comfortably fits both my girls, (25ish and 11ish pounds.)

The velcro is strong and placed in a comfortable spot so you don't have any nasty poking.

Here is a feature which I haven't seen in other diapers...reinforced snaps!
Although I haven't used most of my snapping diapers long enough to know for sure, I think this will make a significant difference in how long this diaper lasts!

This diaper has a different type of insert. It is expandable, which is great and it ends up being three layers when folded properly.
It's made out of bamboo and organic cotton.
Even with the three layers, it manages to stay trim!

I wouldn't say this diaper has super absorbency. I usually have to put an extra insert in this diaper when I'm using it for Katie, (the toddler,) or we're pretty much guaranteed to have leaks. (It's just fine for 11lb Victoria, though.)
Caprices sells extra inserts separately so you can double up!

The insert is soft, and I love that it is made out of bamboo and organic cotton, but there has been a slight cosmetic problem:

The cotton suede cloth (designed to help keep the feeling of dryness,) didn't shrink as much as the bamboo part in the wash.
Not a biggie, obviously, but not as pretty as it started out.

Caprices carries a variety of colors and some prints, including this adorable one!

They also have other useful mama things, like nursing covers:

Go check them out! They have a great, newly renovated website!

Reinforced snaps is a HUGE deal. I have a woman around here who puts the snaps in my diapers and always reinforces them or else after a while they will pull out, making a big rip in the diaper, which as we all know, is VERY uncool.

agreed!(reinforced snaps)
i have some expensive fancy ones that weren't reinforced and ripped or tore out. granted, i bought them used so they weren't the new price but still. no reason for snaps to do that!
