Last week I won a giveaway on Fresh 1 Blankies' Facebook fan page. When asked to visit their website to choose a print for my blankies set
, I discovered that they also make potty mats!
When I contacted Jessica, she was excited about participating in this event, and sent me a potty mat and book sack to review, (along with the blankies that I had won!)
First, I want to tell you about the "Original Grab n Go System" that gives Fresh 1 Blankies their name!
|Victoria's Pink Paisley Puppy F1B set!|
"Fresh 1 Blankies are approx. 15"x15" square consisting of a soft minky and durable silky satin. What separates F1B from the rest is that we quilt together our two layers of fabric. No separation of layers making for a wobbly blankie, no lightweight satin clinging to the baby's face while they sleep. F1B is designed to be a solid blankie, with the ability to take on the drooling, biting, crying, spit up, sniffles, playground, and more."
The clever part is that they're sold in sets of four, so when one has been drooled and gnawed on more than is good for it, you can wash it and have extras so your baby isn't without her "lovey" for any length of time!
They are super-soft, and Victoria, at 6 months, already likes to clutch her new blankies!
We, of course, chose the girly "Owl Be Watching" print for our mat, and it arrived in style!
(everything else was wrapped up nicely, too, but Katie was in too big of a hurry to "OPE IT?" for me to get pictures!)
"16"x22" Mat is made of high pile cuddly minky on top, 100% cotton inside , and fuzzy flannel on the bottom. Designed specifically to encourage fun potty time while soaking up "extra sprinkles." Great for keeping little toes warm in the middle of the night. When dirty, just throw in the wash and dry. No worrying about ruining plastic - there is none!"
The potty mat really is everything they say! It's thick and soft, (and absorbent!) and it keeps Katie's little toes warm! Our bathroom floor is often cold, especially in the winter as we heat our house with a woodstove and the warmth doesn't get in there as soon as the rest of the house.
I love being able to just pick it up and toss it in the wash instead of having to wipe up messes every time.
I think one of the best things about having this mat could be that it helps keep the potty seat in place when your little one is sitting on it.
Katie has become quite the expert now, so it's not such a big deal for us at this point, (until Victoria is doing this!) but early on we had troubles with the potty scooching away as she tried to sit down, especially with the BABYBJÖRN Little Potty
. This mat would help, if not eliminate
, that problem!
Grab a Coordinating Book Sack to go with the potty mat to keep your books near by!
Katie did a lot of reading when we were first having her sit on the potty to learn when to go!
We always had an unsightly pile of books sitting in the bathroom, so I'm excited to have this much more attractive way to store them now!
You can also hang them from towel rods on hangers!
The only problem we've had with our book sack is Katie wanting to take it everywhere with her as a "purse."
So I think I may switch to the hanger method for awhile, as it's a pain to have to take the toilet paper on and off all the time!
My only suggestion for this company is to get some more selection of prints, perhaps including a gender neutral one, as I'm guessing my sons (someday!) aren't going to be too happy about pink surrounding their potty chair, and I wouldn't want to have to keep two sets around!
Read about how Fresh 1 Blankies is contributing to Grant's Gift, an organization that supplies blankets to hospitals specifically to be used in situations of stillbirth and early infant death. The goal of Grant's Gift is to provide parents with a keepsake to remember their baby by -something that was given to them through a program established by parents who truly understand this incomprehensible loss.
Fresh 1 Blankies is giving away another potty mat & coordinating book sack to one of my lucky readers in their choice of available prints!
